God is my EVERYTHING. The great I AM.

Moses said to God, “Suppose I go to the Israelites and say to them, ‘The God of your fathers has sent me to you,’ and they ask me, ‘What is his name?’ Then what shall I tell them?” -Exodus 3:13

God said to Moses, “I AM WHO I AM. This is what you are to say to the Israelites: ‘I AM has sent me to you.'” -Exodus 3:14

God also said to Moses, “Say to the Israelites, ‘The LORD, the God of your fathers–the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob–has sent me to you.’ “This is my name forever, the name you shall call me from generation to generation. -Exodus 3:15

These verses really made me pause and think of who God is. As I read them and meditated over them I started to remember all the wonderful things He is to me.

He is the creator of all things, the Alpha and the Omega.
He is omnipotent, omnipresent, and infinite.
He is holy, just, sovereign, and righteous.
He is truth and He is love.
He is my savior and He is my redeemer.
He is my healer.
He is my provider.
He is my protector.
He is my wise counselor.
He is my strength in every weakness.
He is merciful to me, faithful, patient, compassionate, and gracious.
He is my hope, my peace, and my joy.

God is my EVERYTHING. The great I AM.

He is able to take care of anything and everything I encounter, but sometimes I forget to be more focused on who He is, and less focused on who I am.

I want to figure it all out. I want all the answers. I want to know the solution to every conflict. The ending of every struggle. I feel the pressure of trying to fix everything on my own.

The truth is I can’t, and I definitely don’t have all the answers. Shifting my focus back to Him can change everything. Suddenly all the pressure fades away. Placing my trust back in the God who truly is my everything, removes all the pressure from me.

I know who He is and I trust and believe in Him.

If I could give you any encouragement today it would be to sit down and write out who God is to you, meditate over it, and let it sink in. It’s so easy to find peace when your focused on the great I AM.
