Each Day is a Fresh Start

“Do not be afraid,” Samuel replied. “You have done all this evil; yet do not turn away from the LORD, but serve the LORD with all your heart.

1 Samuel 12:20

Samuel has just revealed that God has chosen Saul to be King of Israel. Israel rejected God as their King. By rejecting God they have sinned greatly. They realize their mistake and come to Samuel for prayer.

What can we take away from this verse?

Never lose hope! Each day is a fresh start and a new opportunity to serve God.

We all have sin within our lives, some of us worse than others. No one is perfect. There is encouragement in this verse. 1 Samuel 20:1 says we are to press on and move forward following God. We are not to turn away from Him just because we made a mistake. We are to serve Him and follow Him with all of our hearts.

No matter how dark our past is, or how much guilt we carry, we can confess it to God, repent, and move forward! No sin is too great. No mistake is to big. All can be forgiven. We just need to turn to God in service, worship, and prayer.

Each day is a fresh start. A new opportunity to live our lives to the fullest.

We can learn from our past mistakes and move forward knowing that there is grace and mercy given to us by God. Through sincere and heartfelt service things will be made well.

Today can be better than yesterday!

Let go of your mistakes, look to God and start moving forward!

How will you use your fresh start today??
