A Bit of Bible & A Bit of Prayer

2 Peter 1:3-9

A Bit of Bible:

Grace and peace be yours in abundance through the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord. Through these he has given us his very great and precious promises, so that through them you may participate in the divine nature, having escaped the corruption in the world caused by evil desires. For this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge; and to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness; and to godliness, mutual affection; and to mutual affection, love. For if you possess these qualities in increasing measure, they will keep you from being ineffective and unproductive in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. But whoever does not have them is nearsighted and blind, forgetting that they have been cleansed from their past sins.

2 Peter 1:3-9

A Bit of Prayer:

Father,

I thank you for your grace and peace as I strive to know the fullness of Jesus Christ. I do not want to be nearsighted and blind, but I desire to live a life of excellence! I desire to live a life that is fruitful, effective, and productive. Not wasting away even a day that you have blessed me with. I will strive to learn and obtain the knowledge you have provided within your word, so I will know your great and precious promises. I will make every effort to add to my faith goodness, knowledge, self-control, perseverance, godliness, affection, and love. I will work to live out these commands daily. Taking small steps forward everyday, until I can look back and see the leaps and bounds I’ve made in becoming more like Christ and less like everyone else. Father, I pray that you would help me everyday, and when I fail, you would provide me with the strength to keep pressing forward and living a righteous life. I pray that as I make every effort to nurture the Holy Spirit within me, you would use me to pour love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, and faithfulness into others around me. Father, when they see me, I pray they see you.

In Jesus Name,

Amen
